After Office Hours

14boatquay_jpg It is time again to leave the office. It is the most awaited time for most of the employees that have already accomplished the tasks of the day. However for those that are still cramming, this is the point wherein they want to stop the clock ticking.

After office hours is the best time for me. It is because I will dwell with the heavy traffics. I will observe how people run after time. It is the tireless waiting to finally reach the house. And as I arrive home, this is where I feel relaxation, satisfaction and peace. It is the time I spent endless laughter with my siblings. I can watch movies and different television programs. And it is the time to rest my mind to all the exhausting stresses the whole day bring. That is why I understand that it is much better not to bring extra work at home because we play different roles. As we go inside the house, we are no longer the typical employee accomplishing tasks. We are already a family member responsible to relieve each other of the day’s busy hours. As we go to sleep, it is better that no worries are within us for it will bring a better tomorrow. With peace of mind as we wake up the next morning, positive vibrations will make us more a more efficient individual.

perfume Oil is the basic ingredient in making a perfume. As we all know, mixing different oils can create different smell and feeling. Here are some classifications of perfume that are suited on different types of occasions and activities.

Oils of lavender, bergamot and cedar wood are the best oils to describe a calming scent. For an energizing feeling, the most suited oils are lime, lemon, grapefruit, mint, and basil. A romantic touch is any oil of jasmine, lavender, and pettigrain. And warming moods are those of ginger, black pepper, clove and juniper.

Try researching the components of your favorite scent and you can start making your own style. Let us consider giving reverence to Christian Dior’s Diorella by mixing one drop each of lemon, honeysuckle and peach with two drops of a vetiver base note. Yardley, Dior or Guerlain are some of the thousand brands that we get inspiration from. It is a fact that there are scents that are certainly impossible to replicate. This is what we call the distinct smell.

While doing the researches of these make me feel fulfilled. I realized that I can make my own on which I can call it personalized and inspired and not a copy.

One’s scent can describe a certain mood or a character of an individual. Here are some guidelines that will help us to appreciate fragrances and be inspired in combining different essential oils.

Yardley linear scents are a combination of note rose, lavender and sandal wood. It should have five drops of one of the mentioned oil. A complex scent is by combining two oils or all of the scents together. Putting these oils together can create an energizing, calm and romantic fragrant.
In making a complex scent, there are three categories that should be considered. These categories are called top notes, heart notes and base notes. Top notes are oils of orange, orange blossom, mint, lime, mint, lime, bergamot, sage, basil, ilang-ilang and grapefruit. On the other hand, heart notes are those of rose, jasmine, neroli, chamomile, ginger, juniper, marjoram, may chang, rosemary and rosewood. Patchouli, cedar, musk, vanilla, benzoin, black pepper, frankincense are all base notes.

It is just a matter of discovery. Trying and putting oils together will create varieties of unique scents that will enhance mood and style. So let us all glam up by wearing different fragrances everyday.

One of the highlights of today’s news is the photo op of President Obama’s and wife together with the Spanish President and his family last week during a reception at the New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. This shot has gathered opinions from the different parts of the world due to the reason that Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, his first lady Sonsoles Espinosa and daughters, Laura, 16 and Alba, 13 never have a picture published publicly. This is because of a Spanish law that prohibiting doing so.

I just feel the same way as what Meghan Mc Cain, Senator John McCain’s daughter had expressed. I had felt the pity for the two daughters Laura and Alba who have been too young to face the scrutiny of the world in such way they are not even used to. Being in front of the camera and be a big part of the issue on which the world has been arguing makes them boiling in the hot seat. I have also realized how powerful the cyberspace and internet in spreading photos and other materials such as this. I have also have also appreciate the uniqueness of every culture. That in every nation is guarded by distinctive beliefs and laws on which every race must understand and respect. This is just one great example on how to deal with racial diversity. But still, I sympathize with the two children that in their young age are exposed to this kind of controversy.

Cravings During Pregnancy: How To Deal With It?

pregnancy-cravings Craving during pregnancy is already given. It means that looking for strange foods is common due to hormones. All we can do is to find means on how we can solve and adjust to it without jeopardizing the nutrition needed by a pregnant mother.

These are some helpful tips and guidelines on how to incorporate cravings to a balance diet. Trying these guidelines can help sustain nutrition during pregnancy.

First is to never skip breakfast. And we all know that breakfast is the most important meal in a day. It is the time we will get our energy for the whole day activity. Missing out eating breakfast can increase more cravings later in the day. And this means, the more we crave, the more risks we have in not achieving a balanced diet.

Next is by eating plenty of complex carbohydrates such as whole-wheat breads, brown rice, whole-grain cereals, and pasta. It takes longer for complex carbohydrates to digest therefore making level of blood sugar steady. Inconsistency in blood sugar can cause more cravings.

The third one is by integrating these cravings into nutritional diet. Having a slice of banana or strawberry on an ice cream is one best idea. Trying chocolate milk instead of chocolate is another good suggestion. The only word is integration or mixing up together to come up with nutritious foods.

Lastly, indulge the cravings into a healthy one. Look for alternatives. Substitute non fat yoghurt for ice cream and pretzels for chips. And the most important thing is to include exercise in the daily routine. Physical activities plus complete nutrients will not only lessen cravings but more importantly reducing the possible risks of pregnancy.

It is not bad not to let ourselves give in to these cravings as long as we get the proper nutrition needed by ourselves and most especially our babies. It is also good once in a while to satisfy our yearnings for these strange foods but only once in awhile. Then follow the above mentioned steps and surely all pregnant women will have no hard time.

Thus we are now trying to use solar energy to run different kinds of home appliances and automobiles. With the high cost of petroleum and diesel along with the fast pace economy, many people are now aware of the damages that a conventional fuel can cause. Global community is becoming conscious of the effect of pollution not only to the public but mostly to our health. This is now a great call to be responsible for the preservation of our natural resources.

Not every nation on Earth has the vast amount of money to buy conventional fuel so they are now awaken that pollution-free alternative fuel like bio diesel is much better. It’s beneficial to both health and environment.

We also have the Ethanol as alternative fuel that is prepared from the alteration of carbon founded feed stocks like switch grass, sugar beets, barley, sugar cane and corn. It is very advantageous to the environment and can be used in exchange for the polluting petroleum made traditional fuels. It can be used in different forms and can be mixed up with gasoline in varying combination. Different combinations of ethanol are available at most gas stations. We also have the bio-diesel. It is a non petroleum-made diesel fuel from vegetable made oils like groundnut oil, mustard oil and ghee. It is becoming very popular source of hybrid fuel options for its rich energy sources. Bio-diesel is distinct from the straight vegetable oil, used vegetable oil and pure plant oil. It is more of a mono-alkyd based ester which is used to transform diesel vehicles like the Toyota Camry Hybrid, Mercury Mariner Hybrid and Saturn Vue Hybrid. It is somehow a different kind of scientifically prepared fuel compared to the diesel-made fuel family.
A lot of options are being laid down. It’s just within our hands to choose what is best not only to the pockets but most especially to our health and environment.

As A Leaf turns to Yellow

yellow-autumn1 As I turn my head in every corner of this office, all that radiates is the color of yellow. Everyday there is a color of the day but never has it caught my attention. Not until today that it awaken my senses and reminds me of a lot of things. The yellow may be associated with cowardice but it gives me a different perception. Looking outside the window, I see numbers of yellow leaves. As a leaf turns to yellow, it means that it is in a decaying stage. It is once a green leaf in the pinnacle of its existence. As it changes color, it enters to another phase. It is the point wherein it does not get any more attention and care. However, it gives me a different realization. Color yellow stands for excellence for it has surpassed the many challenges that life may offer. It has reached its ultimate goal. It has enjoyed the peak of its being. As it turns yellow, it is a sign of a nearing to peaceful exit but with contentment and fulfillment.

As my life blossoms into a different color, I am looking forward that as it turns into the yellow phase, I will be fulfilled and with no regrets have enjoyed my life. Yellow reminds me to explore, enjoy and make the best of every minute of my time.

An Overwhelming Day

keep_thinking I don’t know if insomnia hits me up again but still Im here in front of my computer,wide awake though my eyes are complaining already. As I lay down, many things keep on popping in my head. All I can say is that today is a roller-coaster ride. I have a lot of things to do in my mind. A lot of things I want to achieve but I don’t know where to start. I am very much overwhelmed with the news especially with the Kanye West behavior during the VMA. If I was Taylor Swift, I would not let him do that to me. I would get back the microphone and continue my winning moment speech. It was just so shocking and disappointing at the same time. Another thing, I wish I could also have the biceps and triceps of the First Lady; It is certainly an achievement. I have high respect for women who are health conscious. The first lady’s figure is one of the best attributes I adored most. Well, my eyes need some rest now. I hope tomorrow will not be as overwhelming as today.

Final Goodbye to the King of Pop

Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest last September 3 after more than two months of his surprising death. His resting place is the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California wherein he will be among the big superstars of Hollywood. His brother mentioned that Jackson’s three children, Prince Michael I, Paris and Michael II had given messages to their father that were placed inside the coffin. The letters like “I love you and I miss you Daddy” were put inside the casket together with its most famous trademark, the white glove.

The Forest Memorial Park is a private cemetery known for superlative description wherein the King is really qualified to be buried. But what I want to emphasize most is the grief and the pain running in the veins of the family especially the kids. It is the acceptance that their father is no longer around is the most painful experience. And the fact, that he died unexpectedly, I know there are a lot of words left unspoken. Only memories are left to reminisce.
Acceptance is a very complex process wherein it takes time and deep understanding. As we all pray for the eternal repose of the soul of our Idol. Let us not forget to include in our prayers the feelings of his kids. His children as one of his top priorities are the ones that need most our help.

Goodbye and Thank you Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. We will pray for you and your family.

The Use of Alternative Fuel

Conventional fuels are being used rapidly every day. Samples of these are petroleum oil, coal propane, natural gas and nuclear materials such as uranium. The use of conventional has been proven but the dilemma is it may not be able to sustain for a long period of time.

Supply is the most basic reason for alternative fuels to be conceptualized. Alternative fuel is also known as non conventional fuel which is of any material that can be utilized as a substitute for the conventional energy. These are biodiesel and bioalcohol. Most common bioalcohols are ethanol and butanol. These are chemically stored electricity such as batteries, fuel cells and bioamass sources. These also include hydrogen, non-fossil methane, on fossil natural gass and vegetable oil.

Based on my opinion, there is nothing wrong with using alternatives as long as it doesn’t affect our environment and the supply of our natural gases. If these substitutes can help maintain equilibrium and balance with nature, then precisely this is the best solution. However, we should also be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of using the conventional and non conventional fuels. If there are circumstances that we can lessen our use to fuels then perhaps it is much better and appropriate.
